Samsung Announced Their New 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad-Core Processor

The giant Korean electronic company, Samsung announced their new 1.4GHz Exynos 4 quad-processor for phones and tablets. Actually Samsung's most awaiting product Galaxy S III which is going to be revealed in the first week of April is powered by this new quad-core processor confirmed by Samsung officials. So at least we are now confirmed about  the processor of coming Galaxy S III that was totally hidden by the company till announcement.

 Samsung confirms the efficiency of this new processor is much higher than its predecessors. They are claiming it as twice more powerful in terms of its horsepower while also ensuring of 20% off power consumption than all previous chipsets. The company has designed the processor with exactly same pin layout like other dual-cores. Samsung is regarding their new processor as the world's first quad-core mobile chip that use low power technology called High-k Metal Gate. The new device is based on ARM Cortex A9 chipset design. Samsung is also commercializing this product by sampling it to other companies.


Actually Samsung's new Exynos 4 quad-processor is built to compete with Nvidia's Tegra 3. After coming in the market Galaxy S III has to fight with HTC One X that is powered by Nvidia Tegra 3. So it is more likely a war between Samsung and Nvidia. Samsung claims while using the processor you will enjoy PC like performance.
The charming news is, the processor has the capability to scale the frequency and the voltage for each individual core. As for example, one core can handle streaming video while the other chip can update different apps and scan the web in the background simultaneously. The processor supports full HD video recording and playback with a hardware codec. The device also has an HDMI 1.4 interface.
So what it will be?  Samsung Exynos 4 quad-processor or Nvidia Tegra 3!
